2nd Annual Operation Bootstrap Africa Fundraiser Auction!

Those that follow this blog may remember last year's photography package auction to support a great cause, Operation Bootstrap Africa. Well, its that time of year again. I am a little late on getting this started so we'll need to push it hard to get the auction going before the walk. This year it will take place June 7th. Walkers and supporters can meet at 5:15 at the courthouse in Fergus Falls. This is the 24th year we have had a walk supporting this cause here in Fergus. Remember to keep in mind proceeds directly benefit the children of Ketumbeine, Africa. Like last year, I will have a wall photo on the Holly D Photography Facebook page where the bidding will take place. That is where the most up to date amounts will be shown, but if you would like to place a bid via this blog or e-mail please do so and I will update the graphic with the amount you have bid. My church has always been involved with this event so I hope to generate a great donation to add to the cause. Lets beat what we did last year-- the winning bid was $180 -lets shatter the record!

Photography Package Details:

*Full photography session with Holly D Photography for up to 4 people
*A CD of 20, fully edited, full resolution images from your session with printing release
*A 5x5 custom designed, spiral bound session album using the photos of your choice on front and back covers, including 10 photo pages inside

This session fee and package is valued at $500, lets start the bidding at $125


Bidding starts today 5.26.11 at noon and the final bid will be accepted at 9:00 p.m. Sunday June 5th. The winner must pay for the session by Monday June 6th 5:00 p.m. by cash, check, or credit/debit card. The session may be scheduled at any time.

I was so happy to be asked to be a second shooter for Melissa Dale Photography for this lovely couple. I had only just met them and you could just tell they were deeply in love and so happy together. What a treat to get to photograph them and be a part of their special day. It was a cold, but beautiful day for a wedding and the whole party was just wonderful about bearing the cold for some GORGEOUS outdoor portraits to be treasured always! Can we say cutie!?!?! Oh my goodness this little girl stole my heart! She is so adorable!!! She was a little grumpy to start out, but by the end daddy had her giggling PRETTY good! If we only had a camera pointed at US during the session ;) They had lots of fun Christmas ideas for photos for Christmas cards, but when they pulled out the little cowgirl outfit I KNEW that was going to be so perfect! They are dying for this girl to become a little cowgirl and these pics will be a good kicking off point ;) We are already talking about doing photos again in the summer next year out at their beautiful homestead and I cannot wait to work with this beautiful family again! I was asked to photograph these two cousins as they were home together over Thanksgiving and boy did they give me a run for my money! ;) This age range is my most challenging.....then times two haha- to catch them both looking, "sitting up" (neither super steady), and happy was the difficult trifecta, but we still got some fun shots of the girls together I think everyone will treasure.

Finally catching up on a bit of blogging- we'll start out with my last senior of the year. It was brisk but he was a trooper ;) We were on the go to keep warm but still got in a good session. Even on the steps of the court house with Anthony trying to watch a video on his phone of how to tie a tie haha! You might recognize this young gentleman from earlier this year. We met up then to do some track photos in season. Now we just met to finish up his senior session for some classic senior shots and as well got him back into uniform, this time in his football uniform! His mom had some great ideas and locations already picked out- lets just say she had connections ;) I think we had a good time and I was lucky to work with yet another awesome senior! I must be a magnet for "hard cases" for young gentleman that will be "difficult" to photograph for their senior pictures...but once again this guy did GREAT! The rumors were NOT true ;) By the end of the night he was posing away and finding great spots for MORE photos! Sneak Peek for Senior Leah

I met up with this gorgeous blue-eyed senior on her farm in Campbell. And what LUCK we did have for shooting on the farm!! This place was simply gorgeous and it was one great "find" after another of ready to go "props" right on the farm! I told them I should have this be my new studio- totally my style! We did not even need to leave the property and had MORE than enough shots to choose from! It was hot and sticky that day too so very happy we decided to do them in the morning with the gorgeous morning light :) Thanks Leah and family- enjoy your sneak peek! More to come soon! 11 Months Old and Growing Too Fast!

Trying to play a little catch up with my daughter's pictures. This was from her 11-month shoot. She is now almost 13 months already! I had been eyeing these dresses and found a pattern and fabric to go with her gorgeous baby blues and had my mom do the hard part (the sewing) haha. Love the dress, love the girl ;)
