The E Family - MN Family Photographer

I met up with the E family on one of our warmer days this winter- we saw the forecast and took a chance it would be right and the weather was JUST warm enough to cooperate for some outdoors family photos, but we also utilized the studio for some as well. Outdoor winter portraits are so beautiful I was happy we were able to sneak in a few at the end of our session. I photographed Chris and Lacy's wedding last August and I was thrilled to get to work with this great family again. The boys (all of them ;) ) were very cooperative for the photo session and made it a breeze! Mr. L was SO cooperative and little Mr. P had the CUTEST expressions!! one word....LOVE.......

The people in love.....the family full of love......the details and wedding itself LOVE- a photographer's dream! Well, in my opinion anyway ;) I knew the minute I saw the bridesmaids shoes come out of the box it was going to be my kind of wedding! This wedding was FULL of gorgeous, fun, and thoughtful details by Jessica and Justin. When we first met discussing me shooting their wedding, I was thinking "hmmmm mid-February wedding in Fargo...." I was anticipating a blizzard and freezing temps and low and behold it was a GORGEOUS day, relatively "warm" - well warm enough for us to get outdoor photos (yeah!) The bridal party was amazing as well putting up with all of my crazy ideas and requests. These two are a truly special couple and got the GORGEOUS wedding day they truly deserve and I as their photographer was on cloud nine at every turn with how the day went and all the planning and thought they put into every inch of the day-- great day!!! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs K-- best wishes on your marriage, thank you SO much for asking me to be a part of your day!

Ms. Libbie is 18 Months! - MN Child Photographer

This lovely lady is my very own daughter, Miss Libbie. She is QUITE the job to photograph and this day was no exception. Just goes to show you parents, even the photographer's kids "act up" when the camera comes out haha. But this is just typically my girl and even the "grumpy" pictures show her personality :) Can't believe she is a year and a half already (or was in December, playing catch up here ;) ) Love you sweet Libb!

{My Grandpa's Camera} - MN Photographer

I borrowed this tiltshift lens back in November and was getting to take all sorts of fun photos with it, in this blog post I am going to share photos of my Grandpa Doug's camera. He was always taking photos back in the "good old days." In his later years after developing Parkinson's Disease many hobbies he loved were no longer possible for him. It is so fun to go through these old photographs. He especially loved taking photos of cars, well, my Grandma Georgeen standing in front of different cars :) I have searched high and low for a photo of HIM with his camera but so far no luck, I still hope to locate that photo. Photography was a passion for him that has passed on through our family. His sister, my Great Aunt Euni has always been a photo snapper, my mom has always taken a LOT of photos, and I have taken even MORE photos....ask anyone- very seldom did ANY occasion go by I didn't pull my old camera out of my purse and snap photos :) It gets stronger every generation--- oh boy I hate to imagine how strong my son and/or daughter may get the "bug" ;) My Grandpa Doug is no longer with us, passing away before my children had the pleasure of being able to meet him. He was such a special man and I often wonder what he would say about my passion for photography and the steps I've taken over the last year bringing it to a professional level. At least I can relish in his photographs and treasure these moments he created so long ago that today in 2011 I can still enjoy and feel almost like I was there in his photographs.

Workshop with Audrey Woulard Photography - MN Photographer

In September I had an amazing time in Chicago at a workshop with Audrey Woulard Photography. Her work is so unbelievably beautiful and an inspiration and she herself is so down to earth and willing to help I could not have asked for more! Another great thing was getting to meet a group of amazing photographers taking the workshop with me. Most of us have stayed in touch still (as I'm blogging about this months later haha) and these women are amazing in their own right and everyone had something to teach each other. Mr. & Mrs. D - ND Wedding Photographer

Ok, so I didn't officially shoot this wedding, I just so happened to be busy being bridesmaid to beautiful bride Jenny, but that didn't stop me from snagging a few shots still from the big day :) I kept it pretty minimal- never want to step on anyone else's toes, but being the master scrapbooker I needed enough to get myself by! :D Here are just a handful of shots from the beautiful October wedding- Congrats again Jenny & Nick! So, so happy for you both!!! You have quite the catch there Nick ;)

{Cousins} - MN Child Photographer

Again, I am a little partial to these children :) I snuck in a very quick secret session with my kids and their cousin, Miss A, when I was babysitting one day in September....thinking ahead for Christmas gifts for our family. It was kept very well under wraps and everyone was very surprised to get portraits from this session for Christmas- wondering when they were taken- my little secret :) Here are just a few from the day, nice laid back day at the park.
