I thought FOR SURE we'd be rained out of this session-- but the weather was on our side PHEW! It actually turned out to be some very nice lighting for our photos, but we were racing the rain clouds! Jesse and Amanda wanted their photos taken at Phelp's Mill which always makes for a beautiful backdrop. I also was lucky to have a couple very sweet assistants along to help me (Amanda's adorable little girls). They were such great "helpers" and big sister had all kind sof ideas ;) We also did photos in their Sioux jersies and with their Harley gear-- to check those out see my Facebook page for more pics. Thanks so much Jesse and Amanda. I am very much looking forward to your wedding and cannot wait for more photos with the bike on the wedding day!! Enjoy the sneak peek!!

Miss Z Turns 1! {MN Child Photographer}
Oh my oh my---- little Miss Z is ONE already!!! It doesn't seem all too long ago that I was photographing this beautiful little newborn girl. She has been nothing but a treat this whole year that I was lucky enough to photograph her as she is a member of the Holly D Baby Club. I also lucked out as her mama is always ready with some of the most adorable outfits for this little brunette beauty! This day was no exception. Adorable outfits, adorable and happy Miss Z. As usual she makes my job easy as she is so stinking cute!! Happy Birthday Miss Z-- can't believe the year has already come and gone! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Mr. & Mrs. G {MN Wedding Photographer}
It seems like so long ago that Mr. and Mrs. G contacted me about doing their wedding photography, but sure enough the day snuck up on all of us. The couple planned their wedding from their home in Kansas City for a wedding and reception in the Hawley/Rollag area. I know that is a very difficult job planning a wedding from far away and they did a GREAT job with everything! We lucked out too with the weather and had an absolutely beautiful day as well. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. G- enjoy your sneak peek!!

Mr. & Mrs. A {MN Wedding Photographer}
Once again--- SO hard to choose just a few to share on the blog. This day was full of laughter, love, and emotion. It was an absolutely PERFECT day to get married. Beautiful gowns, beautiful flowers, beautiful people :) And hey- it was even my birthday! All kidding aside, I so enjoyed getting to photograph this truly in love couple. They are so perfect for each other, it was so wonderful to be a part of them uniting their love. I just had to include the above photo with the rings in the little girl's hands. These are the wedding rings, along with a special daughter ring the bride and groom got for the bride's daughter to commemorate their new family together. What a beautiful touch! Congratulations and best wishes Mr. & Mrs. A!!! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Mr. & Mrs. T {MN Wedding Photographer}
love.this.wedding.......
Just because your event is not a HUGE wedding does not mean it cannot be utterly beautiful and filled with great details and touches the whole way through! I was SO thrilled to see all of the thought and care Samantha had put into her big day!! For starters, it was on the beautiful property of Forest Lodge Farms Bed and Breakfast. Hard to go wrong there! When I arrived the bride was enjoying chocolate covered strawberries, homemade croissants from scratch, and champagne in her beautiful suite, enjoying getting her hair and make up done by the talented Lauren Carlson of 715 Hot Heads. The salon was able to do several people's hair and make up right there on location. No travel necessary! So convenient! Then came the fine touches she shared with me from her beautiful lace parasol and fan to her compact all the way from France to her beautiful pearl necklace that had been kept in the family for several generations. The day carried on and on like this. It was a beautiful day weather-wise as well. We could not have asked for a more perfect day and venue. After the ceremony the guests enjoyed a WONDERFUL meal prepared by Forest Lodge Farms. From the soup course to the meal to the lavish chocolate and raspberry wedding cake and even a sundae bar with homemade ice cream! Wow! I was thoroughly impressed! I cannot wait to take part in another wedding out at this beautiful and unique location!

Melanie + Patrick {MN Engagement Photographer}
These two are SO perfect for each other-- if I learned one thing about this couple it is they LOVE to laugh!! And that is the perfect thing for a photographer :) I never had to wait too long for Patrick to get Melanie smiling and laughing for our session. I ended up giving them a nice long tour of the back roads of my area, but we got to see lots of different areas for photos. I was SO happy to hear they had a great idea for the end of their session-- "taking the plunge" into the water fully clothed to top off the session. It was so fun to catch this moment for them and such a good idea. I am so lucky to have clients who love to think "outside of the box" for their sessions! Thanks Patrick and Melanie! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Scott + Belinda {MN Engagement Photographer}
Well--- all the bad luck I encountered before and leading up to this shoot was SO worth it!! ;) Lets just say rain + broken glasses + Holly and a state trooper are not a good mix......
I LOVE details and they had plenty of details and unique ideas and that is what I always am hoping for. They even at the end, all on their own accord, wanted to JUMP into the lake fully clothed (mind you it may be mid-June, but here in Minnesota the lakes are not all that warm yet haha). I'm always game if they are and it made for an amazing cap to a truly WONDERFUL and unique engagement session that really shows this couples' personality, interests, and the photos were taken at a place very near and dear to them.
There are SO many great photos to share from their session, it was very difficult to choose just five to post on this blog. If you are on Facebook, please go to my business page and check out more that will be uploaded shortly. There are SO many beautiful and fun photos of this great couple. I am very much looking forward to their wedding in October to see what other fun goodies they might have in store for me. Enjoy this sneak peek (I know I sure did!!)

New Wall Art Down at Wild Rose- {MN Wedding & Portrait Photographer}
*this above cluster's right panel is technically supposed to be on the far left*
Hello! Just wanted to share some snapshots of the new wall art hanging up at Wild Rose Floral and Gifts here in Fergus Falls. These are stand out wall clusters and you can order them in a large variety of sizes/numbers from your portrait session. They are easy to hang and can fill small to large spaces very easily with those images closest to your heart. There is one special cluster of an engagement photo done in canvas. This is an even more upscale version of a standout wall cluster. Printed on fine art gallery wrapped canvas, one image is split across multiple frames (in this case three) for a very unique look! All of these pieces come ready to hang right out of the box. Instant room decor! Stop down and check them out for yourself and tell the lovely ladies of Wild Rose hello and check out their new gift items and beautiful fresh floral!

The P Family {MN Family Photographer}
We had been planning and planning and planning on a session together for quite some time and finally the stars aligned and we were all available in the same place at the same time- can you imagine? ;) These two little girls were SO sweet and honestly so friendly right off the bat-- I was pleasantly surprised we could basically dive right into photos without that "awkward there is a lady taking out picture" phase :) As you can see the whole family is absolutely adorable and we got so many fun shots. Big sister was quite a good helper with making people smile and in turn keeping us all smiling.

This session shown above is for a local hair salon 715 Hot Heads. We had an amazing time with this session and it is something unlike any other in our local area. They will definitely stand out from the crowd! Contact Holly D today to discuss the possibilities of your business and a creative professional portrait session! Salon owner Lauren Carlson had this to say about her creative professional portrait session, "Owning a business in the hair and beauty industry, I have found that one must make themselves stand apart from the others in a high fashion and attractive way. Thinking out of the box is old news, jumping out of the box is something I wanted to do. The beautiful models who participated are all clients of 715 Hot Heads and not only made the photos everything they are, but were classy and amazing all at the same time. Beauty is everything, every age, every size, every look. Working with Holly D is effortless; she is so talented and cutting edge and couldn't come more highly recommended. These pictures are the future of professional portraits." Down at 715 Hot Heads, their mission statement is "To create beauty, from the inside out" and that certainly shines through in their creative professional portraits.
I have another to session to share, but you'll have to keep watching the blog, its not quite ready to go public yet, but its another forward-thinking business right here in Fergus Falls.
