Amanda & Jake {MN Engagement Photographer}

Oh my goodness- how adorable is this couple!? I just love it when couples are so in love and the world just seems to melt away during our engagement sessions and that is just what happened here. Not a whole lot of direction needed for these two, just got to sit back and capture the love that was already there between the two of them. So sweet! Thank you, you two lovebirds, you make my job easy and EXTRA fun! haha- We got an absolutely gorgeous fall day to take these on our second attempt, our first night we had this planned would NOT have been so fun in that cold weather brrr!! Thanks so much Amanda and Jake for asking me to take your engagement photos, I don't need to really say a whole lot about these two, their faces say it all as they look at each other- congrats you two!

Chris & Sondra - {MN Engagement Photographer}

Chris and Sondra came down to the area for their engagement session on an extremely WARM night-- to put it mildly haha. They were gamers of course, as my clients always are- they know what they have to do to "get the shot" ;) Actually, I knew Sondra was a tough chick as she helped me get my car unstuck from a snowdrift when we originally met to go over paperwork for the wedding this winter haha-- can we say awkward first meeting? :) It luckily cooled off a little bit just as we were begining the session too, which helped. Sondra had this great idea for a bunch of balloons to be used in the shots, what started out as thinking about having 50-- the logistics of transporting 50 mylar balloons in a car just wasn't working out haha. I still love the look of these balloons in the pics, makes for a unique touch. And of course Phelp's Mill (at the couple's request) always makes for a beautiful backdrop. Amanda & Jessie {MN Engagement Photographer}

I thought FOR SURE we'd be rained out of this session-- but the weather was on our side PHEW! It actually turned out to be some very nice lighting for our photos, but we were racing the rain clouds! Jesse and Amanda wanted their photos taken at Phelp's Mill which always makes for a beautiful backdrop. I also was lucky to have a couple very sweet assistants along to help me (Amanda's adorable little girls). They were such great "helpers" and big sister had all kind sof ideas ;) We also did photos in their Sioux jersies and with their Harley gear-- to check those out see my Facebook page for more pics. Melanie + Patrick {MN Engagement Photographer}

These two are SO perfect for each other-- if I learned one thing about this couple it is they LOVE to laugh!! And that is the perfect thing for a photographer :) I never had to wait too long for Patrick to get Melanie smiling and laughing for our session. I ended up giving them a nice long tour of the back roads of my area, but we got to see lots of different areas for photos. I was SO happy to hear they had a great idea for the end of their session-- "taking the plunge" into the water fully clothed to top off the session. It was so fun to catch this moment for them and such a good idea. I am so lucky to have clients who love to think "outside of the box" for their sessions! Thanks Patrick and Melanie! Scott + Belinda {MN Engagement Photographer}

Well--- all the bad luck I encountered before and leading up to this shoot was SO worth it!! ;) Lets just say rain + broken glasses + Holly and a state trooper are not a good mix......

I LOVE details and they had plenty of details and unique ideas and that is what I always am hoping for. They even at the end, all on their own accord, wanted to JUMP into the lake fully clothed (mind you it may be mid-June, but here in Minnesota the lakes are not all that warm yet haha). I'm always game if they are and it made for an amazing cap to a truly WONDERFUL and unique engagement session that really shows this couples' personality, interests, and the photos were taken at a place very near and dear to them.

Taylor & Nycole {MN Engagement Photographer}

We had an absolutely GORGEOUS evening to take Taylor and Nycole's engagement photos! I love this time of year, its warm, but not too hot and we are not forever swatting at mosquitoes--- I'll admit there were a couple flying around, but nothing we couldn't handle. Eric + Karma {MN Engagement Photographer}

Well, we had high hopes that the snow would be gone before we took these engagement photos, but no such luck.....these two have a SUPER idea and I'm going to keep you all on the edge of your seats as our fingers are crossed we'll be able to pull off the idea for their wedding photos in the next couple weeks :) Nonetheless, we made our rounds and still had a great engagement session. I am very much looking forward to their wedding day- Karma is making her own wedding dress!! I cannot wait to see the masterpiece! {Josh + Mindy} - MN Engagement Photographer

This was attempt #2 for a winter wonderland engagement session with Josh and Mindy. We attempted on another brisk (to say the least) winter day, but we just couldn't make it with the wind chill. Today we were bound and determined to power through and they were sure troopers!! It was STILL cold and windy, trust me, but we worked around it and their love for each other shined through and warmed up all of us. They were so easy going and just happy to be together and willing to try all my crazy ideas- LOVE that! ;) This shoot took place on the lovely grounds of Forest Lodge Farms Bed & Breakfast just outside of Fergus Falls (www.theinnatforestlodgefarms.com). What a beautiful place! We were also treated at the end of our shoot to some fresh, warm, made from scratch croissants made by the owner- that also helped us warm up a tad ;) We have more up our sleeves this spring with them and I absolutely cannot wait to take advantage of their full property without all this fluffy white stuff in our way ;) I cannot WAIT for my first bride to tell me they are getting married out there- check out their website and all their options for weddings! Another special treat about this shoot were some great pieces from Majeco Creations (215 W Lincoln Ave - 218.998.2950) right here in Fergus Falls. They are a virtual treasure trove of great pieces for styling shoots, your home, your office, or anywhere! Great selection and the owners are VERY helpful!! There were also some touches added from our local Ben Franklin Crafts (www.facebook.com/benfranklincrafts) to this shoot to give it just the right look. I am in love with these images! We got SO many beautiful shots-- a perfect day, a very loving couple, and the gorgeous fall leaves all around made for an amazing shoot! The bride-to-be was a little nervous at first, but then warmed up to the camera and had a great time ;) They were up for every one of my crazy ideas and I love that! haha- I had SUCH a hard time picking just five images to showcase on the blog post- can't wait to post more!! I met up with this couple for their engagement session in Pelican Rapids. This was suggested by the bride-to-be and I couldn't have been happier with all we had to work with there! Lots of fun places to explore! I had such a hard time narrowing down my favorites of this great looking couple!
